Galilee Energy Spuds US Gulf Coast Zydeco-1 Well

03/07/2026

Spud on Schedule and Budget. Represents the first stage in executing Galilee's strategy to build a scalable US Gulf Coast oil and gas business

  • Zydeco-1 has officially spudded in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, marking the commencement of Galilee's first US Gulf Coast drilling campaign
  • Spudding means drilling has formally commenced, moving Zydeco-1 from site preparation and rig-up into active well operations
  • The program will first drill and set 9-5/8 inch casing at ~2,200 ft true vertical depth (TVD), before drilling deeper and using logging while drilling across the Homeseekers B-sand
  • Galilee then plans to set 7 inch casing at approximately ~9,319 ft TVD, drill to the Upper Tweedle at ~9,577 ft TVD and continue to the Lower Tweedle at ~9,975 ft TVD
  • The next material update is expected following electric logging of the Tweedle formations, to advise whether hydrocarbon pay and commercial reservoir quality are confirmed
  • If the logs confirm a commercial reservoir, Galilee expects to move into completion, surface facilities and tie-in to the Texas Gas Pipeline to be announced in August 2026, subject to operational progress and results
  • Zydeco-1 is testing a large conventional Gulf Coast gas-condensate target with unrisked prospective resources of up to 13.7 BCFG and 610,000 barrels of condensate

Galilee Energy advise that the Zydeco-1 well has officially spudded and drilling operations are now underway. Galilee holds a 100% working interest in the Zydeco Oil & Gas Project and a 70% net revenue interest.

Galilee Energy Managing Director Joseph Graham commented:
“Spudding Zydeco-1 is an extremely exciting moment for Galilee. This is the point where years of technical work, disciplined preparation and careful execution move into the drill bit. The rig is turning, the well is underway and we are now testing a high-impact conventional gas-condensate opportunity in one of the most productive hydrocarbon regions in the United States.

The team has done an outstanding job getting Zydeco-1 to this point safely, on schedule and within budget. We now have a clear drilling program ahead of us, with the key value point expected when electric logs are run across the Tweedle formations. If these logs confirm the hydrocarbon pay we are targeting, Galilee expects to move rapidly into completion, surface facilities and pipeline tie-in. This is exactly the kind of well that can change the scale and direction of the Company.”

Galilee Energy is focused on building a scalable US Gulf Coast oil and gas business through the acquisition and development of low-risk, near-term production opportunities. The Company’s strategy is centred on disciplined capital allocation, rapid pathways to production and cash flow generation, with the Zydeco Project in Louisiana representing the first step in a broader growth platform targeting repeatable value creation.

Supported by an experienced management team and US advisory board, Galilee is pursuing a proven redevelopment model focused on mature, undercapitalised assets with existing infrastructure and clear development pathways. The Company also retains 100% ownership of the Glenaras Gas Project in Queensland’s Galilee Basin, one of the largest uncontracted natural gas resources on Australia’s east coast.
