The Oil Exploration Company has signed a contract for seismic survey operations with China's Sinopec to implement the 2D Adan program in Muthanna Governorate, as part of the licensing round (Annex 5 and Round 6).

The signing of this contract aligns with the Ministry of Oil's directions to expand seismic survey operations using the latest global technologies to enhancing exploration activities, improving the efficiency of geological structure evaluation, and providing the necessary technical data for developing oil fields and exploration blocks, in accordance with the Ministry's strategic plans to maximize hydrocarbon reserves and support national production.

The Oil Exploration Company affirmed that the contract represents a significant step in the development of the exploration sector and embodies its commitment to strengthening cooperation with specialized companies, thereby contributing to transfer expertise and modern technologies to national personnel and enhancing their technical capabilities, which supports the achievement of sustainable development in Iraq's oil sector.
