OEG Announce New African Base To Support Increased Activity

13/09/2018

Offshore Cargo-Carrying Unit (CCU) and A60 module company OEG Offshore (OEG) has established a new facility in Pointe-Noire, the Republic of the Congo.

The new base will provide local access to OEG’s full range of DNV 2.7-1 certified CCUs to service the Congolese oil and gas sector, and the other countries signatory to the CEMAC (Central African Economic and Monetary Community). The new operational location allows OEG to further support existing customers in Congo and other catchment countries such as Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon & São Tomé and Príncipe during future regional expansion drilling campaigns and existing infrastructure projects.

The rental fleet available from the new base is a mixture of containers, half heights, cargo baskets and workshops all designed and manufactured in accordance with DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079 in compliance with the design & operational standards required in-country and regionally.

OEG has been operating in West Africa for over 10 years, supporting major oil and gas customers from base locations in Nigeria, Angola & Ghana. The new facility allows OEG to support key customers locally in Congo as well as deliver extended services such as recertification, transportation, maintenance and repairs. This investment is part of the OEG on-going strategy to offer customers immediate local access to high quality, certified and safe CCU equipment in support of their offshore operations.

Dennis Ahoasi, Country Director of OEG Congo said,
“OEG has an international reputation for its loyal partnerships with its customers and we are continuing this high level of operational support locally. We have received positive market feedback for this new establishment and have already secured several contracts with leading oil and gas service companies and expect to conclude long-term service agreements with a further two customers shortly.

“We have a wide range of the most commonly used offshore containers, half heights and cargo baskets available at our base in Pointe-Noire for immediate mobilisation and can draw on OEG’s large global fleet for additional requirements within the region on either a short or long-term rental or sale basis”.

OEG CEO, John Heiton said,
“Our new facility in Pointe-Noire is strategically located to take advantage of the encouraging signs of increased activity in Congo and the wider region.  Our new colleague, Dennis Ahoasi has many years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas sector and has successfully established strong links with leading players in the region”.

OEG Offshore’s range of over 27,000 DNV 2.7-1 containers, baskets, cuttings and waste skips, workshops and offshore tanks as well as A60 engineering cabins are available worldwide across the 35 countries where OEG Offshore operates.
