Rever Offshore, a leading subsea services provider to the oil and gas industry, has appointed Barry MacLeod as its new Chief Executive. Mr MacLeod replaces Mark Bessell, who stepped down from the role last month, for personal reasons.
The announcement, made last week, sees Mr MacLeod build upon eight years’ experience as board director of the company. His roles within Rever have included Operations Director, Asset Management Director and – latterly – Managing Director; a post he has held for the past five years.
Mr. MacLeod has extensive engineering and project management experience within the wider oil and gas industry, having delivered projects across the North Sea, Canada and West Africa with subsea contractors and consultancies. Throughout his time with Rever, he has delivered on fundamental projects for the organisation, which have been credited as a major part in its success.
Rever Offshore, formerly known as Bibby Offshore, completed a full rebrand in January of this year following the transition to new ownership. With a "business as usual” approach throughout, the company has continued to provide its traditional high levels of service, succinctly illustrated by the recent publication of an above-average client retention score of 8.3.
The news of this new appointment comes at an exciting time for the organisation as it looks forward into 2019 with a positive outlook and further projects on the horizon.
