Zarubezhneft and Uzbekneftegaz have signed an agreement on basic conditions for implementation of a project for development of deposits. The list includes sites of Khartoum, East-Khartoum, South Alamyshik which are located on the territory of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the parties signed a roadmap to ensure timely and quality work at the fields in order to increase hydrocarbon production.
In summer of 2019, the parties will start the direct implementation of the project, the Interfax reports.
In March, Zarubezhneft and Uzbekneftegaz established a joint venture, Andizhanpetro, to develop three fields in the Ferghana valley. It was assumed that licenses for the existing oil fields of South Alamyshik, Khartoum, East-Khartoum would be transferred to Andizhanpetro. All three of them are exhausted with a depletion of 90%. The initial geological reserves of these deposits were about 30 million tons. The oil recovery factor for them is currently about 30%. Zarubezhneft plans to increase it to about 40% by using its own technologies.
