Ukraine is ready to resume transit of Russian oil to EU

07/05/2019

Four days after the restoration of supply of pure Russian oil to Belarus, the Ukraine is also ready to accept raw materials through the Druzhba oil pipeline. Ukrtransnafta confirmed that the raw material, in which organochlorine was found in late April, now meets quality standards.

The company, which estimates its lost revenue at $1 million, hasn’t yet filed a claim against Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukrtransnafta expects to be able to catch up on the nonfulfilled plans of the deliveries of Russian shippers at the expense of increasing shipment volumes by the end of the year, the Kommersant writes.

According to a transit agreement, as stated by the Ukrainian operator, Kiev has the right to stop the reception of Russian petroleum products, if the raw material doesn’t meet the quality indicators, and the losses should be compensated by the party that violated its obligations. But officially none of the consumers has yet laid claims to Russia.
