Bilfinger Strengthen Maintenance and Modification Offering with New Appointment

30/01/2019

Leading asset lifecycle services specialist Bilfinger Salamis UK has strengthened its service offering with the appointment of Maintenance and Modifications Operations Manager, Bob Taylor.

Well respected with many years of experience in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, Bob will work to grow and expand the business’s Maintenance and Modification capability from its Aberdeen, Great Yarmouth, Esbjerg and Groningen operational hubs.

The business has developed local expertise in delivering these services, successfully providing maintenance manpower, construction teams, deck crews and minor modifications for a wide range of North Sea clients. Last year this was further evidenced with the award of a major technical manpower contract where Bilfinger Salamis successfully transferred and took ownership of a core team of over 150 onshore and offshore MMO site operatives for an oil major in the Southern North Sea.

Bilfinger Salamis Managing Director Sandy Bonner commented:
"I am delighted to welcome Bob to Bilfinger. I am confident that his technical experience and operational knowledge will further establish the business as an expert provider in maintenance and modifications. During his extensive career Bob has worked at various levels with Operators, Duty Holder and Tier 1 Contracting organisations, starting offshore and developing his career through to production integrity management and asset maintenance management. His extensive knowledge of Process Safety and Asset Integrity will prove invaluable as we continue to grow the MMO business”.

Bob Taylor added:
“Bilfinger is respected as an industry leader in its field, and the opportunity to develop and position this exciting service stream is a challenge I can’t wait to get started on. Bilfinger employ over 36000 employees and I have the opportunity to help showcase their investment in technology and global engineering track record. The expertise of Bilfinger colleagues is enviable, and I believe that the development of maintenance and modifications in the UKCS will enhance our reputation as a market leading offshore services company and will be of great value to our existing and new customers.“
