EDPR secures 127 MW of wind power supply at Italian tender

23/12/2016

EDP Renovaveis SA has been awarded a 20-year power supply contract for 127 MW of wind power at an energy tender in Italy.

The strike price equals EUR 66 (USD 69) per MWh.

The company will sell power produced by six wind farms to be located in the south of the country and scheduled to start operations in 2018.

Under the tender rules, the electricity produced by these wind farms will be sold to the market. In case the price is lower than the one established in the power purchase contract, the difference will be paid by energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici SpA (GSE).

With these new contracts EDPR has secured more than 500 MW of projects. Currently, the firm has achieved 65% of its 3.5 GW global goal for the  2016-2020 period.
