Gazprom confirms the company’s digital transformation strategy to 2030

23/09/2019

The Gazprom Neft Board of Directors has confirmed the company’s digital transformation strategy. This new document has been developed in line with the company’s wider business development strategy to 2030, and supports its implementation.

This digital transformation envisages a range of major programmes for changes to technological and operational processes at Gazprom Neft, directed at moving over to new management systems and facilitating significant improvements in assets’ efficiency and industrial safety.

Each of these programmes is intended to deliver key economic and business impacts in the medium and long term, with the company planning a two-fold improvement to geological prospecting costs and lead times by 2030, concurrently with improvements in quality. Lead times for implementing major oil and gas production projects are expected to see a 40-percent improvement, while production costs are expected to drop by 10 percent. Gazprom Neft is also expecting further improvements in operating profit.

The company’s digital transformation process covers its entire value chain. New-technology-based changes at Gazprom Neft are intended to improve flexibility and efficiency in business management, based on data and digital twins of assets. The company is developing its own solutions in artificial intelligence (AI), the “Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT”), robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (“UAV” or “drones”), and other Industry 4.0 technologies.

The further expansion of the technological-partnership ecosystem, and transitioning over to platform solutions in corporate data management, will also facilitate the company’s further development through additional efficiency improvements in the company’s activities and the launch of new products and services for clients.
