Santos today announced Janine J. McArdle has been appointed to the Santos Board as an independent non-executive director with such appointment to take effect today, 23 October 2019.

With a proven track record of successful strategic decision making and operational management in the energy industry, the appointment of Ms McArdle further complements and strengthens the Santos Board.

Ms McArdle has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry across global new business development, engineering, business, risk management and marketing.

Ms McArdle has held senior positions with Apache Corporation (NYSE: APA), including Executive Officer, Senior Vice President Global Gas Monetisation, President Kitimat LNG Co, and Vice President Worldwide Oil and Gas Marketing.    

Ms McArdle has qualifications in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Houston. She is currently CEO and President of Apex Strategies, a global consultancy business providing advisory services to companies engaged in the midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry and serves on the University of Nebraska College of Engineering Advisory Board.

Santos Chairman Keith Spence said he was delighted with the appointment and looked forward to working with Ms McArdle on the Santos Board.
