Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea Sign Agreements to Promote Energy Cooperation

As part of the celebration of the Extraordinary Meeting of Ministers of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, a meeting was held between the Minister of Popular Oil Power Manuel Quevedo and his counterpart from Equatorial Guinea Gabriel Mbaga Obiang, in which signed cooperation instruments to strengthen the energy sector of both nations. Among the alliances subscribed, the following stand out:

Commercial agreement between PDVSA and its Subsidiary PDVSA Industrial, SA with GEPETROL; with the purpose of strengthening the link and exchange relations to develop strategic areas on both sides, in order to obtain products, services and the possibility of working together through strategies aimed at the sustained development of the oil and gas industry in its entire value chain, generating technological and scientific knowledge in balance with the social development, the environment and the economic growth of both parties.

Another of the signed instruments includes the Cooperation for Specialized Technical Assistance and Advice, Development and Applied Research between Petróleos de Venezuela SA and its Subsidiary, the Institute of Venezuelan Technology for Petroleum SA (INTEVEP), and the National Institute of Hydrocarbons Technology of Guinea Equatorial (ITHNGE). 

Likewise, the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Petróleos de Venezuela, SA and its Subsidiary PDVSA Industrial, SA and The National Alliance of Hydrocarbons Service Companies (NAHSCO) was finalized. 

In the context of this visit, the Minister of Popular Petroleum Power of Venezuela, Manuel Quevedo, thanked the hospitality of the Government of Equatorial Guinea during the activities related to the V Summit of the Forum.

Likewise, the holder of the hydrocarbon portfolio said that these alliances obey the guidelines of the president of Equatorial Guinea and Venezuela, “who have entrusted us with strengthening ties in matters of cooperation and exchange of goods and services, training and training between the two countries, in this sense, Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA) is leading through its subsidiaries Intevep and PDVSA Industrial to work from this moment and strengthen this relationship that we have historically maintained ”. 

"The flag of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as we repeat in these international forums, is to conceive energy resources for the economic and social development of the people, they are resources for equality, solidarity and for energy justice," said Quevedo.
