io consulting (io) is pleased to announce award of a Pre-FEED Optimisation study by Hydrostor, the world’s leading developer of utility-scale energy storage facilities using its proprietary A-CAES technology and purpose-built underground storage caverns. This study will see io deploy its holistic expertise in collaboration with Hydrostor’s team to optimise their proprietary Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) technology. Led by io’s consultants, the project will engage deep domain technical expertise from both io’s parent organisations, Baker Hughes and McDermott International, and will be executed using the io way, which is designed to bring value through greater certainty and higher quality decisions.

Energy storage is a critical technology for the energy transition and this project award underlines io’s commitment to the sector.
