Dynamic Edge, established in Aberdeen in 2009, has acquired Hampshire-based information technology firm Tekkers IT Solutions. The value of the deal has not been disclosed. All 16 staff at Tekkers are being retained.

This is Dynamic Edge’s third IT acquisition following deals to purchase Inverness-based Alchemy Plus Business Solutions in 2015 and award-winning Surrey-based Waytime Technologies in 2017.

The latest deal takes Dynamic Edge’s headcount to 55 across six offices – Aberdeen, Inverness, Stirling, Dundee, Guildford and now Fareham, which is strategically placed to support company IT requirements in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. The Tekkers name will remain, with the company becoming part of the Dynamic Edge Group.

Dynamic Edge now has 520 clients from the Isle of Wight to Shetland. Husband and wife Pete and Erica Matheson, who established Tekkers in 2011, will remain with the firm as consultants while pursuing other business interests, with Craig Nixon stepping up to lead the office as regional manager.

Rob Hamilton, the Surrey-based CEO at Dynamic Edge, said:
“We’re thrilled to have made our third acquisition with the addition of a highly-rated business. The culture within the business, its talented team, its client base and the location of its office meant Tekkers ticked all the right boxes for Dynamic Edge.

“Acquisitions form a key part of our growth strategy and we wouldn’t rule out further deals in the future. For the moment, however, our focus will be on integrating Tekkers into the wider group and taking the business to the next level by offering a broader scope of services and capability to the market.

“We’re looking forward to engaging with the business community in Hampshire and the surrounding area.”

Pete Matheson said:
“We’re delighted a company such as Dynamic Edge has acquired the business. They have the depth of resources to take it on the next level. We have been particular about which company we sold the business to as we have strong relationships with our staff and clients. We’re delighted to have reached an agreement with a progressive and passionate company.”

The deal was funded by Scottish Investment Bank, the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise, and Funding Circle. Dynamic Edge was advised by The Legal Director, a London-based law firm.
