The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Wellesley Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 35/12-7.
The drilling programme for well 35/12-7 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 925. Wellesley Petroleum AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 90 per cent. Concedo AS is a licensee with 10 per cent. The area in this licence consists of a part of block 35/9 and 35/12. The well will be drilled about 23 kilometres southwest of the Gjøa field and 7 kilometres east of Byrding.
Production licence 925 was awarded in APA 2017, on 2 March 2018. This is the second well to be drilled within the licence.
The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.
