Congratulation to the following oil and gas professionals who are have secured new positions in the E&P, service and industry organization sectors:

Neptune Energy announced Mehdi Bouguetaia will be joining the company to take on the role of Algeria Managing Director, based in Algiers.

Mehdi joins Neptune from Shell where he most recently held the position of Technical Support and Subsea Operations General Manager with the company’s Rashpetco JV business in Egypt.

The OGTC has announced the appointment of Martin Gilbert as Chair of the Aberdeen-based research and technology organisation. He will succeed Archie Kennedy who has been Vice Chair and Chair of the OGTC since it was established in February 2017.

Acteon Group announced this week that Dr Carl Trowell is to be appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Richard Higham.

Carl joins Acteon from Ensco (now known as Valaris), the publicly listed offshore drilling company, which he joined in 2014 as Chief Executive.

Last week, BP announced that David C. Lawler, CEO of bpx energy, will add to his portfolio the responsibilities of chairman and president of bp America Inc., succeeding Susan Dio on July 1, 2020. 

Lawler will become bp’s chief representative in the United States. With 13,000 employees and $30 billion invested since 2016, bp has a larger economic footprint in the U.S. than anywhere else in the world. In 2019, these businesses accounted for a third of bp’s global revenue. Lawler will take the helm as bp embarks on a new ambition to become net zero by 2050 or sooner and to help the world get to net zero.
