05/06/2020

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) has provided an update on the Wudongde hydropower plant, which will be China's fourth largest and the world's seventh largest hydropower project upon completion. The company announced that it has been fully prepared to launch trial operation for its first batch of power units.

The trial operation is a key test and the result of work carried out during the initial stages to determine the efficiency of the plant. It is an important step that must be completed prior to the power units being put into operation.

CTG joined relevant organizations and parties in Yunnan and Sichuan to establish the acceptance committee, who concluded Wudongde was on track to install the first batch of power units in line with design and specification requirements.
