BP announced today plans to cut its global workforce by 10,000 jobs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent oil price collapse.
The changes are expected to significantly affect senior levels, cutting the number of group leaders by a third with around 15% of the global workforce leaving by the end of the year.
Chief executive Bernard Looney told staff that the company will cut 2,000 jobs in the UK, most of these office-based, "not front-line operation roles".
