Key operational activity in 2024
UNITED KINGDOM
In December 2024, RES was awarded the asset management contract for the landmark Larks Green project, the UK’s first co-located solar and battery energy storage system connected to the transmission network.
Developed by Enso Energy and owned by Cero Generation, the site near Bristol combines 70MW of solar power with a 50MW battery energy storage system (BESS), delivering renewable energy to the grid when it’s needed most. This milestone reinforces RES’ position as a trusted partner in renewable energy services, – supporting 41GW of renewable assets across 1,300 sites globally, including a significant portfolio in the UK.
OWOP
The Offshore Wind O&M Partnership (OWOP), an alliance between RES, GEV Wind Power, Outreach Offshore and Rix Renewables, welcomes Rovco, a leading UK-based provider of technology-powered offshore wind solutions, to complement its package of quality, long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) services to offshore wind asset owners internationally.
FRANCE
RES entered the French market in 1999 as a joint venture with Eole Technologie, a wind farm developer active since 1995. The company were originally known as EOLE-RES and are now one of the leading renewable energy companies on the French market.
RES is behind 627 MW (megawatts) of renewable energy installed or currently under construction in France. These utility-scale projects produce 1.6 terawatt hours annually, providing enough electricity for 355,000 homes and preventing 136,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
The company have more than 2,500 MW of projects under development, at different stages.
GERMANY
Since 2013, RES has been developing wind energy projects and turnkey energy storage for landowners, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial clients in Germany.
NORWAY
Established in 2002, Nordisk Vindkraft is a leading wind power developer in Sweden and Norway. Operating as an independent business with full technical and financial support from family owned parent company, RES.
In June 2024, Storåsen wind farm was approved by Ånge municipality in the municipal council. Storåsen, which consists of 24 turbines, will contribute a total of 500 GWh to the energy mix in SE2 – which corresponds to 50% of the energy supply for Ljungaverk’s hydrogen plant.
Storåsen wind farm will supply renewable energy to Tovåsen grid station, which in turn will be the hub for the two large-scale hydrogen plants that RES is developing in Ånge. The energy production from Storåsen corresponds to half of the energy needs for Ljungaverk’s green hydrogen plant.
SWEDEN
In April 2024, RES, was given the green light to develop a large-scale solar park in Falköping, in the south of Sweden. The park is expected to produce 13.5 million kilowatt-hours per year which is enough electricity to power 700 homes.
With an area of 20 hectares, this facility will be a significant producer of renewable energy, helping to reduce the region’s dependence on fossil fuels and thus also reducing its carbon dioxide emissions.
Construction of the solar power park is expected to begin in 2025, and once operational, it will be able to supply hundreds of households with green energy while serving as a living example of how renewable energy and nature conservation can coexist for the benefit of both people, animals, and the environment.
TURKEY
In October 2024, RES received a Generation License for its 70MW Elmacık Wind Power Plant (WPP) from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). Elmacık will be located in Kırklareli, Turkey and the 12 turbines are anticipated to generate 305GWh of clean electricity every year.
It is a significant milestone for the project, which aligns with the Turkish National Energy Plan’s long-term vision to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s electricity production to 45.7% by 2026. The Elmacık WPP is set to play a vital role in this vision as well as providing local jobs and employment opportunities during the construction and operation of the wind power plant.
In November 2024, RES announced the successful sale of the Elmacik Wind Energy Project in Turkey. Located in Kırklareli Province, this 12-turbine, 70MWe project has been acquired by a Turkish investor specialising in renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure construction, marking a significant addition to Türkiye’s renewable energy landscape. With an investment of approximately $77 million, the project is anticipated to begin commercial operation in late 2025.
USA
RES have been providing development, engineering, construction and operations services to the utility-scale wind, solar, transmission, energy storage markets across the United States since 1997.

RES employs more than 500 full-time professionals and have more than 8,000 MW of renewable energy projects installed or currently under construction in the US. These total an annual production of 25 terawatt hours, and can provide enough electricity for 2.3 million homes. They also prevent 17 million tons of CO2 emissions every year. In addition, RES currently have more than 5,300 MW of projects at different stages of development.
RES are experts in third-party engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and balance of plant/systems (BOP/BOS) construction services for the renewable energy, transmission, and energy storage industries. The company also develop and/or own and operate renewable energy and storage projects.
CANADA
RES has been a leading force in Canada’s renewable energy industry for 20 years, with a portfolio that includes over 4,000 MW of wind, solar, and energy storage projects developed or constructed. The company’s expertise spans the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from development and construction to operations and maintenance (O&M) and asset management.
In February 2025, RES announced the selection of the Eigg Mountain Wind Project in Nova Scotia as part of the province’s Green Choice Program.
The project will be developed in partnership with Paq’tnkek and Pictou Landing First Nations who have signed a memorandum of understanding with RES. The project will contribute significantly to Nova Scotia’s clean energy transition, providing new jobs, investment into the community, and sustainable power to the grid. Once constructed by RES it will have 25 turbines with a combined installed capacity of up to 150 MW.
The Green Choice Program is the single largest addition of clean electricity in Nova Scotia’s history and will move the province closer to its goal of 80% renewables by 2030. Six wind farms, including Eigg Mountain, were chosen through a competitive independent procurement process, and will supply over 2,000 GW hours of renewable energy annually by 2028, supporting 11 large-scale electricity customers.
AUSTRALIA
RES has been developing renewable energy in Australia since 2004, providing wind farms that generate pollution free electricity, contribute to a cleaner environment, and have a positive economic effect on their local communities.
In September 2024, The Queensland Government welcomed Stanwell’s acquisition of the 436.5MW Tarong West Wind Farm project from RES.
Stanwell and RES recently signed the historic agreement, meaning Queenslanders will own 100 per cent of the project and the clean energy it will produce.
The project located in South Burnett will realise significant economic benefits for Queenslanders, including around 200 construction jobs and hundreds more indirect jobs as well as 15 operational jobs.
The Tarong West Wind Farm project, which recently received development approval, will feature 97 wind turbines and produce enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 230,000 homes.
