GESGB has announced newly confirmed Keynote Speakers for the CCS4G Symposium 2024:

Dr. Alexander P. Bump - Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin
Talk Title: Playing for Keeps: Exploring for Carbon Storage

Dr. Anne-Mette Cheese - Country Lead, Wintershall Dea AG, Denmark
Talk Title: Connecting Continental Europe: Carbon Management & Hydrogen at Wintershall Dea

The CCS4G Symposium is a one-day event on Carbon Capture and Storage for Geoscientists hosted by the GESGB ‘Exploring the Energy Transition’ Special Interest Group. The symposium will delve into the exciting geotechnical challenges and opportunities of geological CO2 storage, helping to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in this rapidly evolving field.

GESGB are continuing to accept abstracts from industry leaders with the following target topics:

CCS CASE HISTORIES

  • Depleted reservoirs, deep saline aquifers & mineralisation
  • Live operational projects, pilot CO2 injection, projects approaching FID

GEOTECHNICAL PROGRAMME DESIGN

  • Assessing seals and containment, storage efficiency
  • Injectivity, measurement monitoring and verification
