Recommended Webinar: Polymer EOR - Analysis Requirements

09/09/2020

Join PREMIER COREX on Thursday 10th September at 10am UK time as they continue their Core Analysis & EOR series.

  • Date: Sep 10, 2020
  • Time: 10:00 AM in London

Global Technical Manager Jules Reed will be back to provide a detailed review of the various analyses necessary to correctly assess the feasibility of polymer EOR.

Merely performing corefloods and calculating recovery is not a suitable evaluation. Analyses should consider possible detrimental artefacts, such as the oft-forgotten laboratory boundary effects.

Key takeaways from the session include:

  • Experimental methods description and test conditions
  • Important considerations for physical controls in coreflood experiments
  • Recommended dataset required to appropriately determine EOR potential due to polymer injection.

Jules Reed
Global Technical Manager, Premier Oilfield Group

Jules joined Premier Oilfield Group earlier this year as Global Technical Manager bringing almost 30 years of expert industry experience. He is the co-author of the authoritative book, Core Analysis: A Best Practice Guide; V64 in Elsevier’s Developments in Petroleum Science series and is former President of the Society of Core Analysts and currently sits on its Technical Committee. Jules is an expert in most aspects of core analysis, with particular insight on wettability, capillary pressure, relative permeability and EOR. He is also a peer reviewer for a number of technical journals, including SPERE and JPSE.
