Leading subsea controls specialist J&S Subsea Limited has unveiled a key appointment which represents a significant uplevelling in its commitment to the circular economy in achieving revenues of £10 million in the next few years.

The ambitious Kintore-based company has just appointed University of Dundee environmental law masters graduate Kairvee Tyagi as part of its journey towards net zero.  Kairvee has, to date, been tasked with a range of projects including creating an ESG policy, surveying the supply chain and tackling waste by adopting a range of measures including carrying out carbon assessments on each piece of kit to illustrate potential carbon savings to clients.

J&S Subsea Limited has also had advice and expertise from economic development agency Scottish Enterprise to help drive its focus on carbon management that will aid the company in providing robust and transparent information for customers and the wider supply chain.

Central to the company’s growth and net zero focus will be the innovative Legacy Locker which embraces the circular economy by facilitating the reuse, refurbishment, and recycling of subsea equipment.  As well as unlocking capital tied up in unwanted equipment, the system also helps users to boost their environmental credentials by finding ways to reduce waste.

J&S Subsea Limited Managing Director Phil Reid said:
“In welcoming Kairvee to the team, we have further underlined our commitment to ongoing enhancement of our green credentials as well as deepening our ethos of achieving growth by ensuring we have the right people on the team.”

Fiona McDonald Account Manager at Scottish Enterprise added:
“For many companies, such as J&S Subsea Limited, net zero and sustainability are a priority and knowing where to start can be a challenge.

“For Scottish Enterprise, it’s about providing tools to enable a company to develop and implement a net zero plan that has a positive, company-wide impact. J&S Subsea Limited is a new company that is exemplary in its circular economic approach and has committed resources and time to this project. Scottish Enterprise has provided specialist advice, support and will continue to mentor the J&S Subsea Limited team as they continue working hard to achieve their carbon ambitions.”
