EGS Energy Limited is a leading geothermal development and consultancy group with experience on commercial scale projects in Cornwall and around the world. The EGS Energy team have significant experience and expertise, having been part of the Hot Dry Rocks geothermal programme in Cornwall in the 1980s, the follow-on EU programme in Soultz-sous-Forêts, France and the subsequent commercial power generating projects in Landau and Insheim, Germany, among others worldwide.

Based in Penzance, Cornwall, and with an office in London, EGS Energy will deploy its team’s extensive sectoral knowledge, gained over 30 years working with deep geothermal projects and in setting up of two geothermal plants in Germany, to work with clients to develop sites optimal for the creation of engineered geothermal systems. These will initially be in Cornwall.

Geothermal development

Drilling, design, engineering & Management
A crucial aspect of a geothermal development is to be able to put to engineer the underground reservoir and to deliver on the agreed sub-surface strategy. EGS Energy and its partners have experience over many years of achieving this on projects.

Geothermal plant design
With experience in establishing unconventional geothermal plants in a number of different countries, EGS Energy and its partners are ideally placed to advise on the type of system required to maximise the economic potential of a specific geothermal resource.

District heating
Geothermal district heating is the use of geothermal energy (in the form of hot water) to heat homes and businesses in a particular region by moving the heat from sub-surface reservoirs into homes and businesses. EGS Energy and its partners are able to provide advice in relation to geothermal district heating.
