Description

Awilco Drilling Limited was incorporated in December 2009 in connection with the acquisition of the semi-submersible drilling rigs, WilPhoenix and WilHunter. The Company re-registered to a public company on 14 April 2011, under the name Awilco Drilling PLC. Awilco Drilling has recently embarked on a growth phase, with the ordering of two new Moss Maritime CS60 ECO MW drilling rigs from Keppel FELS, Singapore, with options for two further sister rigs.

Awilco Drilling PLC is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange main listing under the ticker code AWDR. The Awilhelmsen Group is the largest shareholder controlling 37.1% of the shares, and its ownership in Awilco Drilling PLC is managed by Awilco AS on behalf of the Awilhelmsen Group. Awilco AS was established in 1939 and is a private shipowning company located in Oslo, Norway, focusing on investments in and operation of shipping and offshore assets. Awilco AS has owned and operated vessels within various shipping, offshore, and oil service segments and has an extensive in-house commercial and technical competence coupled with a strong track-record. Awilco AS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Awilhelmsen AS. Awilco Drilling PLC has management agreements in place with Awilco AS (and related companies) for ad-hoc support services.
