CW Energy was established in 1990 by a team of professionals who had previously worked together in the corporate tax department of one of the Big 4 accounting firms, specialising in oil and gas taxation.
The Company's client service-orientated approach draws on the considerable experience of all their staff, in many cases gained over more than 30 years working in the oil and gas sector. CW Energy's extensive client base extends from small start-up operations to the majors to whom they offer innovative solutions supported by a sound technical base.
CW Energy's partners are well known in the industry; regularly participating in the industry tax committees and contributing to lobbying the government in respect of technical issues in the interests of their clients. The Company's partners also contribute to technical publications on matters affecting the oil and gas sector.
CW Energy specialise in advice on Corporation Tax (CT), Supplementary Charge (SC) and Petroleum Revenue Tax (PRT) and can also advise on Value Added Tax (VAT), and Stamp Duties.
Advice encompasses all corporate tax issues arising on corporate mergers & acquisitions, farm-outs, and asset acquisitions and disposals, including such areas as financing, transfer pricing, and international taxation.
In November 2017 the Company became part of the Gordon Dadds Group (renamed to The Ince Group in 2019), a move which has given CW Energy access to a wider range of services which will benefit clients by enabling the Company to deal with a larger proportion of their needs.
