Burisma Holdings
Description
Burisma Holdings is an independent oil and gas company, operating in Ukraine. Since their launch in 2002, the company has rapidly become one of the largest independent gas producers in the country. Burisma Holdings subsidiaries started exploration and production of hydrocarbons, under joint agreements with state-owned companies
Esko-Pivnich and Pari (companies) acquired their first exploration licenses in 2004. Initial production started from the first well and in 2005 the companies moved from exploration to production.
In order to consolidate the Group’s main assets, Burisma Holdings was established in 2006 and natural gas production began.
A geological audit was carried out by DeGolyer & MacNaughton in 2012, which confirmed a consolidated amount of reserves and resources of 800 million BOE.
In 2016, Burisma increased investment in Ukraine through acquisition of KUB-Gas from Serinus Energy.
Burisma entered the operational co-operation with the other shareholder - Cub Energy, a public company with a listing in Canada. The deal with KUB-Gas heralded the start of a new era for the Ukrainian gas production business.
