The Association of Women in Energy Namibia, trading as Women in Oil, Gas and Energy Namibia (WOGEN) is a non-profit organisation established with the aim of pioneering the advancement of women in oil, gas, and energy in Namibia.
This, the organisation seeks to do through promoting gender diversity and inclusivity; creating a supportive platform advocating for women empowerment; professional development and access to business opportunities in the sector.
Advancement of women in the oil, gas and energy sector has been challenged by the historic male dominancy in the sector. The Government of the Republic of Namibia can, however, be applauded for creating opportunities for change through efforts and commitment towards empowering women and creating a more inclusive workforce in oil, gas and energy. Women In Oil, Gas and Energy Network Namibia (WOGEN) recognises the need to foster and contribute to a more supportive and enabling environment for women to flourish in this transforming industry.
WOGEN's vision is to create a pipeline of women leaders across all sectors of Namibia's oil, gas, and energy industry. The network aims to achieve this by promoting gender diversity and inclusivity through advocacy, creating platforms for knowledge-sharing and business collaboration, and empowering women to take on leadership roles.
