Description
New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals (NZP&M) manage New Zealand’s government-owned oil, gas, mineral and coal resources (“the Crown Mineral Estate”). They are a part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and report to the Minister of Energy and Resources.
Crown-owned minerals include petroleum, gold, silver and uranium in New Zealand's Exclusive Economic Zone and extended continental shelf. (The Crown also has rights to some minerals on private land).
