MPD
Stena Drilling own multiple DNV approved Managed Pressure Drilling & Riser Gas Handling systems, from the Integrated Riser Joint through to the MPD Flowmeters, thus reducing substantial upfront costs to the operator as well as minimising online installation time. These modular systems can be installed on any of Stena Drilling’s MPD ready fleet.

Integrated Well Services
Stena Drilling have a designated Integrated Well Services project team that are working with various parties to introduce the “Stena Integrated Well Services” option to prospective clients projects. As part of their Integrated Well Services suite of services, Stena Drilling project management can be offered to clients during all stages of their projects from planning through to operational phase and during the evaluation phase to ensure learnings are captured for future projects.

SBOP Technology
The application of a Surface BOP (SBOP) is a well-proven, cost-effective method of extending the water depth operating capacity of semi-submersible drilling units.

Stena Drilling is the first drilling contactor to own the complete SBOP and the SSA package, which can be utilised onboard any of its three semi submersible units not only from a conventionally moored Semi-sub, but also from a Dynamically-Positioned Semi-Sub and Drillship. Stena Drilling have a proven and successful track record of delivering Surface BOP projects on Stena and competitor drilling units. Where the Surface BOP packages have been provided for rent in previous projects, Stena Drilling have complimented the rental with Project Management Services. The systems required to handle and run the SBOP on Stena units are designed to minimise the changeover time between conventional and SBOP operations.

DrillSLIM
The current trend for highly mobile deep water rigs is for bigger drillships and semi-submersibles with ever increasing building costs.

Stena Drilling propose a smaller drillship or semi-submersible, the DrillSLIM drillship or DrillSLIM semi-submersible to dramatically reduce the costs of wells in water depths up to 7500ft and relatively benign conditions.
