Description

Rosneft is the leader of Russia’s petroleum industry and the world’s largest publicly traded petroleum company. The company’s main activities include prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbon deposits, oil, gas and gas-condensate production, upstream offshore projects, processing, as well as oil, gas, and product marketing in Russia and abroad.

The Company is included in the list of strategic companies and organizations of Russia. Their largest shareholder (69.50% of the equity) is ROSNEFTEGAZ OJSC, fully owned by the Russian Government, while BP holds 19.75% of shares, one share belongs to the state represented by Federal Agency for State Property Management, while the remaining shares are free floating.

Rosneft is a global energy company with major assets located in Russia and a diversified portfolio in promising regions of international oil and gas sector, including upstream assets in Venezuela, Brazil, Egypt, Mozambique, Vietnam, Norway, Iraq and Libya.

Rosneft's exploration and production business in Russia encompasses all the key oil and gas regions of Russia, including Western and Eastern Siberia, Volga-and Ural Regions, Far East, Timan-Pechora, Krasnodar Region and the shelf of Russian seas, including Arctic shelf, as well as promising regions abroad, including Latin America and South-Eastern Asia.

In October 2016, Rosneft and BP announced the completion of the deal to create a new joint venture, Yermak Neftegaz LLC, to conduct exploration in the West Siberian and Yenisey-Khatanga basins in the Russian Federation.

Production

In 2019, natural gas sales volumes totaled 78.5 billion cubic meters (bcm), representing an increase of 8.8% as compared to 2018, due to an increase in LNG sales volumes purchased mainly from our joint ventures OAO Yamal LNG and OOO Cryogas-Vysotsk.

In 2019, liquid hydrocarbons sales volumes totaled 16.4 million tons, representing an increase of 3.4%, as compared to 2018. The increase was mainly due to crude oil purchases from their joint venture Arcticgas resulting from the commencement of crude oil production at the Yaro-Yakhinskoye field in December 2018.
