Burgate E&P Ltd is a private oil and gas company set up in 2010 with the aim of acquiring discovered oil and gas fields through government licence rounds. Burgate believes there are appraisal and development opportunities in the UKCS which have been neglected in the past and the company's strategy is to focus on acquiring those discovered gas fields which have been ignored to date, but are close to existing infrastructure and still have substantial potential value.
