Velocity model building for depth conversion purposes, including depth-to-depth calibrations

WELL CALIBRATION
Well synthetic generation and calibration to seismic to determine picking stratgey for reservoir and overburden horizon interpretations, incorporating VSP survey results

QI
Fluid replacement modelling, seismic modelling, avo analysis, log curve modelling

WELLS
Target selection, well planning and documentation.  Site survey data analysis for shallow hazards and soil conditions.  Real-time support for drilling operations, incorporating intermediate VSP when available

IT/DM
Extensive software experience: Petrel, RokDoc, DecisionSpace, OpenDTect, DUG, Kingdom, ArcMap, GeoTeric, PaleoScan

Extensive data wrangling: Python, Oracle sql/plus (8i certified), machine learning, MS Excel

Dr. Tim J. S. Sykes

Over 25 years’ experience as a geophysicist providing consultancy services since 2013, previously employed by BP, Maersk Oil, Horizon Energy Partners, Halliburton and Fugro-Geoteam.

Ph.D (1995: Basin evolution of the Southern Hemisphere) and M.Phil (1992: Clay mineral diagenesis) awarded from Cardiff University and a BSc (1989: Geology) from Swansea University.
