Description
Tulip Oil is an upstream development and production company with a focus on oil and gas assets in the Middle East and Western Europe.
The company was established in mid 2010 by Roelof Platenkamp and Erik Steenken who both have long and successful careers in the industry.
Following incorporation of Barclays Natural Resources Investment Group (BNRI) on the 1st January 2011 the basic ingredients were in place to move from plans to practice. Tulip Oil moved to strengthen its structure and management team and now boasts a team with over 120 years cumulative experience in all aspects of the EP Business.
Tulip Oil are a small field operator and have established a heartland in both the Netherlands and Germany, but their core interests in expansion are focussed on the Middle East, where their executives have had long and distinguished careers with IOC’s. The company's technical expertise is highlighted by EOR/IOR developments and unconventionals along with world class petroleum engineering expertise and understanding.
In their search for fields found but not developed, Tulip Oil's management - with history in working in the Sultanate of Oman - identified a number of opportunities in Oman. First step to open up these opportunities was the establishment of Tulip Oil Oman – a 50/50 venture with OMZEST early 2014. The company are in the process of identifying other fields and venture partners in the Sultanate.
