SEREPT was created on December 29th, 1931 in Paris. In the beginning it was called the Trade union of Studies and Oil Researches in Tunisia which had as acronym SEREPT. The official name is now Petroleum Research and Exploitation Company in Tunisia and the shareholders are ETAP (50%) and PERENCO (50%).
